On Friday, July 18, 2008 Rory had his 6 month check-up with Dr. Green his cardiologist at the U of U. Dr. Green was very pleased with his progress and how well he was doing with everthing. He told him to come and see him on his 1 year anniversary (heart attack anniversary in February). After his appointment we went to the gift shop to get a drink and I asked the person working if they had any Air-Med T-shirts or hats for sale. She told us we would have to go down to the Air-Med office and we could get one. When we got to the Air-Med office we met Susan the Air-Med Team Architect and she started tellings us some interesting facts about the Air-Med operations, so I asked her if there were any helicopters at the hospital. She asked us if we would like to go up to the helipad and check out the helicopter and go on the tour of where Rory went the night of his helicopter trip to the hospital. We had a great time with Susan and all of the fun information she told us about the Air-Med operations. One interesting fact she told us that their new helipad is heated so that they never have to clean off the ice and snow in the winter and that they are able to land 4 Apache Military Helicopters on the pad at one time, it is huge! It also has an awesome view of the Salt Lake Valley. We had a great day!!
