We went to the Draper Temple Open House with my Young Women's Mia Maid class. We had dinner at Chuck-a-rama and then off to the temple. We found our parking lot at one of the churches in Draper and walked into the church to watch a short video and presentation with the Sister Missionaries. Then we boarded a bus that took us right up to the Temple. We enjoyed the ride looking at the big beautiful houses on our short trip on the bus. They let us off and we were lead into some white tents that you followed through to get into the Temple. The lines were quite short and we were able to move quickly into the tour. The Temple was beautiful and Braxton was quite impressed with the baptismal font with the oxen, and he is getting excited to turn 12 so he can go and do baptisms for the dead. At the end of the tour you go into one of the sealing rooms and a couple talks to you about why we have temples and what they mean to the members of the church. Following their short talk you are lead into a church that is just across the street from the Temple and they had cookies and bottled water for refreshments. There are Sister Missionaries there to answer questions and quite a few paintings. We had our picture taken by the picture of the Savior. We had a great time together and with the Young Women who always make things fun! Wednesday, March 11, 2009
