Today was a typical Opening Day of Baseball, the weather was terrible. I should have thought about that when we had Brock fly in, but I was optimistic. All week we had WONDERFUL weather and I was hoping for the best. We got up and went down to Parker Park for the ceremony. They always have Opening Ceremonies no matter what the weather and this was not exception. The rained held out for most of the program and then it let loose. (They cancelled all the games.) At the ceremony they said that they have only had good weather 7 of the 19 years the Babe Ruth Baseball League has been in existence, not very good odds. After the ceremony we headed home and I took my traditional Opening Day pictures in the house. In the afternoon we had my parents and Rory's parents over for a BBQ in the house and a belated birthday party for Brock, whose birthday was on April 17th. During the BBQ a friend of Rory's called and said that there had been an airplane crash into Stockton Pass, so we drove out to see the crash sight. It was a charred site on the side of the mountain that you could see from the highway and debris was spread all over the place, it was a sad sight for those families of the three men in the plane. The rest of the night we just hung out and had a relaxing evening.
