Braxton had his night of 1,000 Stars Book night at school. Each child in our school writes and illustrates a book each year. So we went down to see all of the books the kids had written. Braxton's class did ABC books about the States, which they had been studying this year in school. Braxton's was on the State of South Dakota. They had to write something for every letter in the alphabet and draw a picture. His book was really good and so were all of the other kids. That night the school was having a drawing for 4 bikes and 4 Savings bonds. (For every 150 minutes each child read during the school year they received a ticket that was put into the drawing.) We left early because we never win anything and went to Braxton's Scout Court of Honor where he received his Scout Badge, which he was quite excited about. When we got home I pressed the button on the answering machine and started listening to the messages and there was a message from Mrs. Young the Principal she said that Braxton had won one of the Savings Bonds. He was a little bit disappointed about not winning one of the bikes for a minute, but then he was excited that he won one of the savings bonds. It was a great night!
