by Grandpa and Grandma Johnson's graves.
My Grandma Sharp's mom and dad.
Grandpa and Grandma Sharp.
These were two very special people in my life.
I never had the chance to meet them,
but they sounded like wonderful people.
My grandma is still living in Tooele.
This year for Memorial weekend we stayed home. Rory was sick all weekend so we didn't do much. Friday night we watched the Boy in the Strip Pajamas. It's a story about two little boys during WWII, one is a son of a high ranking German soldier and other little boy was a Jewish boy in a concentration camp. It was good movie, but very sad. It made you realize just how bad things were for the people in the concentration camps and how evil people can be. The movie reminded me, especially during this holiday how blessed we are to live in a free country with all of the privileges we have.
On Saturday morning Braxton and I got up and went to see Sue Boswell for a haircut and then we drove into SLC and did a little shopping. Braxton actually wanted to go, which was a huge surprise. We had a great day together. When we got home from SLC Rory was going a little stir crazy so we went for a ride up to Ophir to see what was going on. Braxton rode the zip line a few times and then we took the 4-wheelers up the road and ran into the Smarts. So we stopped and visited and had some yummy apple cobbler that Justin had made in his Dutch Oven.
Sunday we went to church and had a BBQ dinner with Grandpa & Grandma Quinn, played some cards and then went to the cemetery to decorate the family graves. My mom and dad went to CA to see Mandy and her family and Brock, so we were in charge of decorating all of the graves. I decided to take my camera with me and take some pictures. Here are a few I took before the weather turned nasty and we had to leave. Not to long after we got home from the cemetery the power went out. We got bored, so we went for a ride in the rain out to Stockton, around the lake, down the old Mormon trail, past the Grantsville Reservoir, into Grantsville and then back home, it was a fun ride in the rain and we got to listen to the book Braxton and I have been listening to, we are almost finished. (Fablehaven Book #4, it's a great youth series if your interested.)
Monday morning Rory and Braxton got up early to put up flags with the scouts. Then we pulled a few weeds in the yard and then went into SLC to lunch at Cafe Rio, one of our favorite places to have lunch and then off to Jordan Commons Theatre to see Night at the Museum. The movie was pretty good, not as good as the first one, but Braxton really liked it. When we go home Braxton and Rory worked on Braxton's cardboard box car he has to make for school for their drive in movie at school on Friday. Then we all went to collect the flags, I drove and they gathered them up. It was a good relaxing weekend.

Great minds think alike! We went to the same movie, on the same day, and the same place.
Sounds like you had a great weekend!
