Giving Thanks

Thursday, November 26, 2009
This year for Thanksgiving we went to Ophir for dinner.  This has been an annual tradition since the house was built about 5 years ago.  We all stay overnight on Wednesday night .  This year it was us, my parents, my sister Kari and her family and my sister Mandy and her family.  Brock was in Texas with his dad and my brother Jared was with his in-laws, but they came up the night before for a little while.  We also had my dad's side of the family with us, Grandma Bunn, his brother Lee and his son Bodie and his daughter Kaylee, my dad's sister Leslie and her husband Harold, her daughter Stacy and her two sons Austin and Brennan.   We are also lucky to have Rory's parents come to dinner with us each year.  My mom made a traditional dinner with our family favirote of  Banana Cream Pie (made by me with my friend Susie's pie crust recipe and my two helpers Rory and my dad stirring the pudding on the stove), Pumpkin Pie and new this year Chocolate Pie with an Oreo crust (Rory insisted on this pie) which was a hit.  We had a good time visiting with each other, playing cards and the kids playing together.  After everything settled down we put in a movie and went through all of the Black Friday ads getting ready for our shopping adventure in the morning.  We all have a lot to be Thankful for this year!  Family, friends, good health, the gospel and new baby on the way to my sister Mandy.
